Pinterest, though rhyming with interest, is only loosely related! Basically, it’s a virtual pinboard just like the corkboards we had in our rooms as kids and you may still have in your home or office. Pinterest is a social networking site that allows users to create photo collections online – like online, upscale scrapbooking. It is primarily a photo sharing website where the members are allowed to create albums pertaining to a certain theme or pattern.

Over a very short period of time, Pinterest has become one of the leading social media networks. Fairly recently, given that it launched in early 2010, the site has grown in leaps and bounds and is viewed as a strong competitor to the older social media networking websites. At present, the website attracts over 11 million visits each week, placing it among the top 10 social networks.

Over the past few years, businesses have been using social media websites for promoting and boosting their businesses. The same is the case with Pinterest. You might be wondering how a photo sharing website can help your business become a success.

This book is intended to be a guide for using Pinterest to strengthen your business and brand.

The first portion of this book describes how Pinterest works and how to set up an account. It explains how to create different boards for yourself and how to share your own photos or pictures you “pin” on favorite websites or blogs. Ms. Garst tells how to download the “pin” button to your browser so that you can select photos from sites you visit to display on your Pinterest boards. She also explains how to get followers and connect with other Pinterest users.

This book is an easy read and was a great way to jump-start my business posting on Pinterest. I had been pinning things for months prior to it really becoming the next “it” thing for business marketing. I had no idea of the true power of Pinterest though! Kim really showed me how to use Pinterest as a marketing tool and how to really harness it for SEO and visibility. I’ve been implementing some of her tactics in the past few weeks and have really seen some great results. For the money, it was really worth it for me.

Kim Garst’s guide to Pinterest is overflowing with valuable tips and info! I love the way she provides information in an easy to understand way and if that isn’t enough (which sometimes isn’t for an old grandma like me! ha!) she even adds pictures to make things crystal clear! As soon as I got this book I was able to apply the suggestions and within 24 hours I received more opt-ins than I had all month! And the best part, out of that my sales went up as well!
